James T. Weissert, age 72, passed away on Friday, September 18, 2015.
Born October 22, 1942 in Pittsburgh, PA.,he was the son of Frederick C. and Virginia L. (Hogue) Weissert. While attending OSU, he met and was instantly smitten by Leah Kay Mees. They were married on September 19, 1964.
Jim worked for Goodyear for 39 years where his job took him to Luxembourg as well as Australia. He enjoyed traveling, going on cruises with Leah; he was also an avid Buckeye fan.
Survivors include his children: Lisa (Andrew) Wojcinski and Jeff Weissert; one grandson Gabriel; one sister Becky Benson.
He was preceded in death by his wife Leah in 2009 and a sister Elaine Cramer.
Friends will be received at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd, Akron, on Wednesday from 5-8 PM where funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2015 at 10:30 AM with Rev. Mark Frey officiating. Burial will take place at the Rose Hill Burial Park.
