Jane Kline

April 15, 1930 — July 30, 2010

Jane Kline, 80, passed away peacefully July 30, 2010 surrounded by her loving family.

In loving memory by her husband, children and grandchildren. She was born on Long Island, New York, April 15, 1930 to George Shaw and Lee Wolfe Shaw.

Jane moved to Akron as a teenager. After graduation from Buchtel High School, she attended Akron University where she met her beloved husband, Dale, to whom she was married for 60 years. Their third child, Terry, was born in 1956 in Venezuela where Dale was sent by Goodyear to start a new factory. She touched the lives of many students as a teacher in the Akron Schools for twenty-eight years at Forrest Hill, King and Pfeiffer schools.

Jane belonged to the Akron Woman's City Club, College Club, Fairlawn AARP, Citizens for Global Solutions, Phi Mu Sorority and Summit County Retired Teachers. Jane enjoyed gardening when living at her house, loved playing Bridge, travel, crossword puzzles and reading. Jane always said that the three most moving things she saw in her life were the American Cemetery in Normandy, the Vietnam Memorial in Washington, D.C., and the first time she gazed out over the San Francisco Bay.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Dale; son, Thomas of Columbus; daughters, Carol Copeland of Monterey, California, and Terry Cook of Canton, Ohio; grandchildren, Erica Cook of Cleveland and Joe Cook also of Cleveland. Also, close and dear friends, Edna Sokol and Edith Weinstein.

Friends may call MONDAY, August 2nd from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., Akron. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m., WEDNESDAY, August 18th at the funeral home with Pastor Landis Coffman officiating.
