Jane M Kraus

Jane Merrill Kraus MD, 92, died April 30, 2016

Born December 6, 1923 in Johnstown PA, the eldest of two, to Earl and Edna Merrill, she was raised in the Birmingham, AL area. She was a graduate of the Bessemer, AL High School, the University of Alabama (B.S. Phi Beta Kappa 1944), Duke Medical School (Alpha Omega Alpha 1948) and University Hospitals Cleveland (Pathology Residency 1952). Dr. Kraus worked in the Non-Invasive Vascular LAB 1978-98, Dr. William H. Falor, MD, Director. She loved to read everything, especially the New Yorker and enjoyed sports, Duke and Cavs Basketball, Cleveland Indians and the NCAA Tournament Pool.

Preceded in death by husband, William G. Kraus MD and brother, Robert Merrill MD; she is survived by four children: William, Robert, Jane, Frederick; seven grandchildren, Alexander, Michael, Peter, Julia, Erik, Merrill, Harper.

A memorial service will be held 6:30 p.m. THURSDAY at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., with Rev. David E. Loar officiating. Private inurnment at Rose Hill Burial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the LeBron James Family Foundation (lebronjamesfamilyfoundation.org).
