Janet B. Ross

Janet B. Ross, 89, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2021.

Janet was born on September 18, 1931 in Allentown, PA, daughter of Jane Davis and William Samuel Brokenshire.  She graduated from Duke University in 1953 where she was in the University Chapel Choir and musical plays.  After graduate work at Temple University, she taught at the Friends Schools and was a braille instructor at the Overbrook School for the Blind in Philadelphia.

Married in 1955 to John M. Ross, they moved to Akron, Ohio in 1965 where he joined the Law Department of Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company and Janet served on the Women’s Board of the Litchfield Rehabilitation Center serving children with cerebral palsy.

Janet spent her summers at the New Jersey Shore and enjoyed nothing more than being with family and friends at their vacation home in Stone Harbor.

Janet is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, John, and son, William John (Bill).  She is survived by her grandchildren Zoey and William, and sons Scott of Madison, NJ and Douglas of San Francisco, CA.

A Celebration of Life Service for family and friends will take place later this year.
