Jean M. Gleason, age 97, passed away on Friday, September 25, 2015.
Born February 21, 1918 in Canton, she was the daughter of Frederick R. and Mattie Carter (Trumbull) McCullough.
In her early days, Jean worked for the Columbia Gas Company where she demonstrated the uses of natural gas for home heating and cooking. She volunteered at Hale Farms where she later became the supervisor of the gardens; she took special interest in the herbs. She presented demonstrations and workshops on the use of both medicinal and decorative herbs, where she fashioned wreaths and other arrangements which she sold or gave as gifts.
She was a member of the Montrose Zion United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her children: Jeffrey (Roberta) Gleason, Barbara (Richard) Dodez, and Neil Gleason; 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Wilford J Gleason.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2015 3 pm at the Montrose Zion United Methodist Church, 565 N. Cleveland-Massillon Rd., Akron, Ohio 44333; friends will be received one hour prior to the service at the church.
