Jean A. Summerville

November 12, 1944 — November 11, 2024

Richfield, OH

Jean Ann Summerville, of Richfield, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 11, 2024, at the age of 79, one day before her 80th birthday. Born in Akron, she graduated from the University of Akron with a bachelor's degree in education. Jean cherished her early years working at O’Neil’s department store in downtown Akron and later found joy working at Country Maid Orchard in Richfield.

Jean was a devoted wife, loving mother and daughter, cherished grandmother, and caring friend. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 50 years, Scott; her parents, Clyde and Anna Ruth (Conway) Fetzer; and her two brothers, Richard and Philip. She is survived by her two sons, Keith (Jennifer) and Matt (Jamie), as well as six grandchildren: Maddy, Alex, Collin, Olivia, Liam, and Zack.

Her favorite saying, 'What a riot!' was her signature expression and captured her ability to find laughter in everyday moments.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to JoAnn, who provided gracious and selfless in-home care to Jean over the past few years, and to Jeannie, a loyal friend of more than 50 years.

In accordance with Jean’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas, 66675, in memory of her husband Scott’s honorable service in the Vietnam War.

Services in care of The Billow Funeral Homes & Crematory, 85 N. Miller Road Akron, OH 44333
