Jean Ann Szilagyi
Jean Ann Szilagyi, 84, went home to be with the Lord on February 20, 2009, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Akron, she graduated from South High School in 1942. Jean worked during World War II at Goodyear Aircraft as a Rosie the Riveter. After the war, she devoted her life to raising her family. She was known for her heirloom quality crocheting and handmade craft items. She was a member of the Norton Apostolic Christian Church. Jean was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years, Louis; twin granddaughters, Marlene and Darlene Buxton; sisters, Marie Amspoker and Helen Slader; brother, Thomas Gleghorn; she is survived by her daughters, Cheryl Jerry Buxton, Joyce Crolley, Marcia Daniel Richards; sons, Louis E. Carol, Mark, Scott Carol; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Eileen Hagen; brothers, Richard Annie Gleghorn, David Mary Gleghorn; and many other loving relatives and friends.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staffs of The Gardens of Western Reserve, Cuyahoga Falls and Harbour Light Hospice.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. TUESDAY at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., Akron, Ohio 44333, with Pastor Steve Andrews officiating. Burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home MONDAY 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
