Jeffrey D. Spitaleri Sr ., age 68 of Akron, passed away on May 6th, 2024, at Bath Manor Special Care Center after an extended illness.
He was born in Akron, Ohio on June 27th, 1955, to parents Anthony and Mary.
He was a man who loved life, his family, bingo, sports, and most of all the Cleveland Browns. He was the hopeful optimist that they would win the Super Bowl one day. Sundays without the phone calls about the games will never be the same. He had a diverse love of music from Elvis to Neil Diamond, to Eminem.
He had a tireless work ethic that always had him doing some job, somewhere. He worked for Stark Ceramics in East Canton, DLH Industries in Canton, Big Eu’es Restaurant in Cuyahoga Falls, operated his own side-business, and delivered pizzas until he was unable to do so.
He is preceded in death by his father, Anthony; mother, Mary; stepfather Chalmers; brothers, Bret and David; and grandsons, Joshua and Christopher.
He is survived by his stepmother, Billie; brother, Anthony Jr.; sisters, Mary, Toni, and Danielle.; children, Jeffrey II and girlfriend Cindi, Eric and girlfriend Lauren, and Jennifer and husband Eugene; grandchildren, Faith, Katelynn, JD, Jessica, and Emma.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at Bath Manor Special Care Center for the care that their father received daily. A huge “thank you” to Nurse Amber Tolbert for the love that was given to our Dad. To you - he was family- and we thank you.
The family would also like to thank Traditions Hospice for the care that was received in the final weeks of his life.
While he will be missed by us all, we know that he’s no longer dealing with the daily struggles of his illness and is finally at peace.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 P.M. on SATURDAY, May 11th, 2024 at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N Miller Road, Akron, Ohio 44333. With our father being such an Avid Cleveland Browns fan, there was hardly a day that would pass, that he was not wearing Brown and Orange. Please come dressed in your favorite Cleveland Browns attire, or Brown and Orange if you would like.
Arrangements entrusted to the Billow Funeral Homes and Crematory, 85 N Miller Road, Akron, Ohio 44333.
