Jerry Lee Dexter passed away June 14, 2010.
Born in Ravenna, he graduated from Atwater High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict as a surgical assistant in a MASH unit. Jerry had worked as a deputy for 16 years with the Summit County Sheriff's department where he helped found the Bomb Squad. He retired in 2002 from Parry Home Medical after 20 years as a medical equipment technician. His hobbies included woodworking where he created gifts for family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Dorothea; daughter, Caron Ed Harrison; son, Doug Tonna Dexter; grandsons, Derek Wehling and Hayden Lubinski; brother, Bob Judy Dexter; sister, Barb Doug Lampe; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held 11 a.m., Friday at the Billow FALLS Chapel, 1907 23rd St., Cuyahoga Falls, with Rev. Bernard S. Christy officiating. Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
