JoAnn Elias 

May 18, 1944-February 12, 2025 

JoAnn Elias, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at her daughter’s house, surrounded by family, on February 12, 2025, at the age of 80. She spent most of her life in Akron, Ohio, but she also made cherished memories living in Las Vegas, Nevada, Portland, Maine, and Henniker, New Hampshire. 

JoAnn was a devoted wife of John Elias for 41 years until his passing in 2012. Together, they shared a love for traveling, gambling, and most of all, spending time with their family. She is survived by her three children, Shawn, John, and Karrie, as well as several beloved grandchildren, including Hannah, Carolyn, Kristen, Shawn, and Kaitlyn. 

JoAnn will be remembered for her infectious laugh, radiant smile, and unwavering sense of humor. She had a deep desire to help those she cared about and brought joy to everyone around her. Her warmth and generosity will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. 

Calling Hours will be held on WEDNESDAY, February 19th from 10AM -Noon at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, 3204 Ridgewood Rd. Fairlawn, OH 44333. Followed by services at Noon. Entombment will follow at Lakewood Cemetery in Akron, In lieu of any flowers or donations, the family asks that you honor her memory by sharing laughter, kindness, and love with those around you- just as she did.
