Jo Ann Smith, 81, died June 5, 2013.
A life resident of Akron, she was a graduate of Buchtel High School and Wittenberg College where she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority. She was a home economics teacher, a primitive antique dealer and a voracious decorator. She loved her family and grandchildren, following their activities and sports, and loved her home.
Preceded in death by husband of 58 years, Allen; Jo Ann is survived by children, Allyn (John) Davies, Linda (Craig) Hudson, Sally Smith, Tim Smith, Mary Kay Gross and David Smith; grandchildren, Ben and Erin Davies, Abigail and Mark Hudson, Shanon and Morgan Smith, Nick, Katie, and Emily Gross, and Alicia, Jessica, and Tyler Smith.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be held 9:30 a.m. Monday at St. Hilary Catholic Church, 2750 W. Market St., with Fr. Steven Brunovsky officiating. Friends may call 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd. Interment at Chestnut Hill Memorial Park. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to your favorite charity.
