JoAnn Aleath Heck passed away peacefully at home April 17, 2015 surrounded by her loving children.
JoAnn was born in Akron, Ohio October 16, 1928 to James and Corrine Harrah. She was 31 years retired from teaching physical education in the Akron Public Schools. During her tenure as a track coach she was considered one of the winningest in the area. She touched many in her life and was a much respected lady by all whom met her.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, John (Jack) F. Heck; and her brother and sister, Robert Harrah and Mary Kay Rader.
JoAnn is survived by her very loving children, David F. Heck (Debbie), Diann A. Hudson-Heck (Sue), and Elizabeth A. Stein (Ray). Her grandchildren whom she cherished, Amie Stein (Chad), Katie Stein, John L. Heck, Ellie Hudson-Heck, Cassie Hudson-Heck; great grandchild, Brooklyn Dargham; and greatest of friends, Gladys Noall.
Cremation and burial have taken place. A family service is planned. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Pawsibilities, Humane Society of Greater Akron. 7996 Darrow Rd. Twinsburg, Ohio 44087. (Billow FALLS Chapel)
