Joann Markle Watt

December 10, 1927 — January 2, 2010

Our world paused on January 2, 2010 with the passing of our Mother. After a decade long wait our Dad, Donald H. Watt, was welcoming her with open arms. They are now together again!

Mom's life ambition was to raise her children in a solid sturdy way. She loved life and the commitment to her family, friends, and faith. Her sense of humor remained with her through her many struggles. She brought all of us joy and laughter and countless memories. Her greatest joys were being able to travel to warm weather destinations with a good book, home decorating, entertaining, shopping, and being able to 'Trip the Light Fantastic' with our Dad. She was at her BEST when she was with her family and many friends!

Mom was born in Akron, on December 10, 1927, and was a life resident. A graduate of the Buchtel High School and The University of Akron, she was a member of the Phi Mu Sorority, Christ United Methodist Church, Witan, Merriman Hills Garden Club, and Twig 15.

Mom is survived by daughter, Beth; granddog, Katie; son, Marc Peggy; and grandchildren, Jack, Ellen, and T. Donald. She also will be missed by her nieces, Stephanie, Marcia, and Jeanne; nephews, Rick, Mike, and Kelly.

Interment for both Mom and Dad will be 10 a.m. Saturday, January 16, 2010 at Rose Hill Burial Park. A memorial service will be held 12 noon at Christ United Methodist Church with Rev. Benjamin J. Black, III and Rev. Richard O. Harig officiating. Friends are welcome to the graveside service at Rose Hill Burial Park or may call at the church one hour prior to the service. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to Christ United Methodist Church, 380 Mineola Ave., Akron, 44320.
