John G. Boyd, 78, died April 11, 2009.
Born in Akron, he was a U.S. Air Force veteran, member of the Cuyahoga Falls Moose Lodge #918, A.A.R.P. #5038, and retired as a major from the Summit County Sheriff's Department.
Preceded in death by his wife, Bethia H. nee Nicol and brother-in-law, David H. Nicol; he is survived by his sister-in-law, Sally Nicol; nephews, David Sandy and Mark Donna Nicol; cousins, Bill Boyd and Sue Cobb.
Services will be held 11 a.m. FRIDAY at the Billow FALLS Chapel, 1907 23rd St., with Dr. Donard M. Engle officiating. Interment with military honors by Firestone Post 3383 VFW at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home THURSDAY 5 to 8 p.m.
