John K. ``Jack' Craine, 74, passed away peacefully October 4, 2010 after a very long struggle.
Born in Washington Court House, Ohio on December 14, 1935, Jack's family moved to Columbus, Ohio when he was an infant. He graduated from Cols North H.S., honorably discharged by the U.S. Air Force in 1958 and graduated from The Ohio State University in 1962.
He was employed by Union-Camp Paper Corporation and moved to Cuyahoga Falls in 1963. He later joined Buckeye Container Company of Wooster, Ohio and became one of the principal owners and retired in 2000 as Vice President.
Jack was a past President of the Akron Commerce Club, member of Silver Lake Country Club, member of the President's Club of OSU, Miami University of Ohio and the Gyro Club of Akron and the Elks Club. He was an avid Ohio State Buckeye's fan.
Jack was preceded in death by his first wife, Priscilla; brothers, James, Donald and Thomas; and is survived by his wife, Carol Ann; son, David Lisa of Bath; daughter, Julie Edwards of Florida; grandsons, Jacob and Noah Craine; granddaughters, Shannon and Shelby Edwards of Florida. Jack is also survived by his ``bonus' family, David Cogdeill, Bill Kathy Casper, Todd Sharon Roberson, Rocco Marcy Cona, Laurie Mark Spenik, Robert Lisa Cogdeill; 21 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 1905 Portage Trail, Cuyahoga Falls, with Rev. Fr. Thomas W. McCann officiating. Burial at Northlawn Memorial Gardens where military rites will be conducted by the U.S. Air Force and Firestone VFW 3383. Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday at the Billow FALLS Chapel, 1907 23rd St., Cuyahoga Falls.
