John M. Mahoney, 75, passed away June 19, 2012 after a brief illness.
Born in Cambridge, Mass., he lived the last 20 years in Bath, Ohio. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren.
Preceded in death by one granddaughter and one great-grandson, he is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Barbara; his six children, Barbara (Rick) Allinson, Linda Berg, John (Kerry) Mahoney, Paula Dibernardo, Lesa (Aaron) Shoemaker, Steve (Stacie) Ryan; 20 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers, Joseph (JoAnn) Mahoney, Richard Mahoney; sisters, Jeanette (Frank) Spera, Maureen (Frank) Branchiforte; and many other loving relatives and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Hilary Catholic Church, 2750 W. Market St., Fairlawn. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park. Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., Akron. If desired, memorials may be made to Hospice of VNS, 3358 Ridgewood Rd., Akron, OH 44333.
