John Mark Slabaugh

June 5, 1929 — November 28, 2010

On November 28th, following a brief illness, John Mark Slabaugh, fell asleep in Christ and went home to be with his Lord and Savior.

He was born on June 5, 1929, at Mill Run, Pa., the oldest child of John and Lura Slabaugh. As a young man he was born again, accepting Christ as his personal Savior. For the ensuing years his life bore much testimony of his second birth. He gave up a promising career in the tool and die trade to become a preacher of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, so that others might also know Christ as their Lord and Savior.

He is survived by Annalou Slabaugh nee Spindell, his wife of over 60 years; five children, David Sue, Rebecca Hoath Ivan, Miriam LeCureux Lloyd, Judith Slabaugh, and son, Jonathan Slabaugh Edith. Also surviving him are his sisters, Mary Alice Fouts Paul and Ruth Weaver A. Richard. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Paul Jan. He is further survived by 11 grandchildren, three great-grand-children, nieces and nephews, and countless ``spiritual children' who came to saving faith in Christ under the sound of his Gospel preaching.

It may be said of him: he exalted the name of his Lord and Savior, The Lord Jesus Christ, who alone is worthy of worship and praise!

Service will be held 10:30 a.m. MONDAY at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on SUNDAY, 3 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to: Truth and Tidings Gospel Trust, c/o David Metcalf, 3228 Blake Rd., Wadsworth, OH 44281.
