John I. Stearns Jr.

John I. Stearns Jr., (72) went to be with the Lord on April 9, 2021. Born in Akron, Ohio, he was the son of John and Ruth Stearns.

He was a teacher at Green Middle School for 30 years and enjoyed classic cars, golfing, history, reading, and bird watching. He is survived by his sister, Jane Wierzbicki; Nephews, Daniel (Amy) Wierzbicki, David (Morgan) Wierzbicki, Niece, Denise (Luis) Jimenez, and great nephew, Evan Wierzbicki and great nieces, Sophie and Elena Jimenez.

Calling Hours will be held Friday, April 16, 2021 from 11am-1pm at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd. Akron, OH 44333 with a Funeral Service to follow at 1pm. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project .
