John W. Telesca, 78, passed away March 28, 2009.
Born April 18, 1930 in Dunmore, Pennsylvania, he later attended Scranton Preparatory School where he graduated with honors. John served three years in the United States Army during the Korean War. He then attended Mt. Union College and graduated in 1958. The Purple Raiders have lost one of their most ardent fans.
During his working years, John was employed by the City of Akron, the University of Akron, and Summit County. He retired in 2000.
John is survived by his partner of 25 years, Nancy Patton; daughters, Maria John Whipple and Leslie Telesca; son, Michael Tina Telesca; stepdaughter, Deborah Steve VanAuker; stepson, Dr. Jeffrey Dillingham; ten grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
To honor John's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no calling hours or services. If desired, memorial gifts may be made to Hospice of Visiting Nurses, 3358 Ridgewood Rd., Akron 44333.
