John Anthony Zito, 89, passed away November 5, 2013.
Born in Cleveland, he was a U.S. Army veteran of WW II. Mr. Zito was the owner of an insurance agency for many years in Cleveland, was a longtime member of the Lion's Club and a former parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Strongsville. John enjoyed cooking, fishing and golfing and delighted hundreds with his epic clambakes.
Preceded in death by brothers, Angelo and Sylvester; he is survived by his wife, Lois (nee Kojundzich); children, JoAnn (Jack, deceased), Sam (Lora), John (Jennifer), Dana (Doug) and David (Michelle); loving grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Mae; brother, Sam (Jean); and sister-in-law, Teresa.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the Village at St. Edward, 3131 Smith Rd., Fairlawn, OH 44333 with Father James J. Marsick celebrating. Interment with military honors will follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N.
