John J. “Jack” Luecken, 88, died peacefully at home May 12, 2024, with family at his side. Jack was born in Quincy, Illinois, to Oscar and Mathilda Luecken.
Jack was first and foremost a loving and supportive husband and father. He was also a lifelong learner, an accomplished clarinet player and woodworker, and an enthusiastic traveler. Together with his wife of 65 years, Carolee, they raised a family, traveled the world, biked, hiked, sailed, and pursued their dreams. He was always good for a laugh. If you asked him how he was feeling, he might say “with my fingers”.
Jack is survived by Carolee; his children, Deborah, John (“Jay”), and Linda; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Bob, his sister Mary, and his son Bob. He lived a long, full life and was much loved by many. He will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his name can be given to Ohio Hospice or your own favorite charity.
Services in care of The Billow Funeral Homes & Crematory, Fairlawn Chapel, 85 N Miller Road, Akron, OH 44333.
