Steve Baker, age 75, of Akron, Ohio, passed away on June 11, 2024.

Steve, born John Stephen Baker on July 28, 1948, was known for his love of music and his talent as a drummer growing up. He played in various bands, including the Goodyear Band and his high school band, and even had the opportunity to tour Europe with the top high school musicians in the country. His passion for music was evident throughout his life.

In his professional career, Steve worked as a quality assurance manager at Sara Lee Coffee and Tea, previously Continental Coffee in Houston, Texas. He was dedicated to his work and made significant contributions in his field.

Aside from his career, Steve enjoyed relaxing with a nice cigar and a glass of scotch while listening to old records or watching classic movies. Steve was a social individual who loved sharing silly jokes and discussing the rich history of Akron. He will be remembered for his warm personality and sense of humor, and appreciation of simple things.

Steve is survived by his daughter, Sandra, sons, Stephen (Ashley) and Christopher (Christy), along with 6 grandchildren - Cort (Emily), Shaina, Skye, Penelope, Charlotte, and Ariella.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dawn Jean Baker, his sibling Ronald Baker, and his parents Herb and Ruth Baker.

A small, family ceremony will be held on Thursday, June 20th, at 2pm at Greenlawn Memorial Park, where Steve will be interred next to his wife, Dawn. His mother and father are also laid to rest in the same cemetery.
