In the early morning hours of December 1, 2021 Joe Cernanec passed away quietly. Always offering a kind word and warm smile, he had a calm and comforting presence. Joe was a loving son, father, brother and friend to all who knew him. He was a proud veteran of the Korean War. He will be re-united with his mother, Eleanore Cernanec (nee Schnell), father, Joseph Cernanec, nephew, Jack Roberts and beloved family and friends who passed before.
He will forever be missed by his daughter, Kelly Lease and her husband, David; his sister, Henrietta Keehl; nephew, Harold; former wife and life-long friend, Ginny Hinkle, and many dear friends and family members whom he cherished.
All are invited to join us THURSDAY, December 9th from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., Akron, OH 44333. Memorial Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at St. Victor Catholic Church, 3435 Everett Road, Richfield, Ohio 44286 on FRIDAY, December 10th beginning at 10 a.m. There will be a gathering at the church beginning at 9 a.m. prior to mass. Face masks are required at church. Inurnment will follow at West Richfield Cemetery with Army Honors.
