Joseph Franklin Dies, Jr.

Joseph Franklin Dies Jr. , 85, passed away Friday June 30, 2023 at his home in Ossian, IN. He was born June 19, 1938 in Indiana County, PA, the son of Joseph F. and Velma G. Dies.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran and proudly served his country with his final tour in Korea with the Military Police.
Joseph was one of the original employees and Plant Manager for Fort Wayne Metals. He was hired by the founder, his father-in law Ardelle Glaze. He retired after 25 years of dedicated service in 1998.
He is survived by his son, Gregory Scott (Rita) Dies, of Knoxville, TN; daughter, Kelley S. Dies of Ossian, IN; grandchildren, Greg, Jessica, Josey and Chelesa, great grandson, Montgomery, sisters, Donna (Roger) DeLambo, Judy (Richard) Shueller, both of Akron, OH; brother in law, Scott (Melissa) Glaze, sister in laws, Susan (Greg) Turk, and Karan Glaze.
Joseph was preceded in death by his loving wife of more than 65 years, Mardelle Ruth Dies, May 22, 2023, son Joseph L. Dies, July 3, 1978, brothers, Bill, Bob, Ronald, and Jerry Dies.
Visitation will be from 5-8 pm Wednesday July 5, 2023 at D.O. McComb and Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home 8325 Covington Road Fort Wayne, IN. There will be a time of sharing memories at 7:30 pm by family and friends.
Funeral service will be 1:00 pm Friday July 7, 2023 at the Billow Funeral Home 1907 23rd Street Cuyahoga Falls, OH, with visitation 2 hours prior. Burial immediately following in Northlawn Memorial Gardens, Cuyahoga Falls.
