Joseph A. Topougis

Joseph A. Topougis, 58, devoted husband, loving brother and uncle, passed away on March 22, 2022.

He was born in Akron, OH on July 29, 1963 to Anthony J. Topougis and Anna S. Topougis (Lefes). He is survived by his devoted wife Diane Topougis (Bernhard), loving sister Stacie Neros (Nicholas), nephews Robbert Wallick (Ashley), Nicholas Neros, niece Alexia Wallick (Scott), great nephews Lukas and Noah, aunts, in-laws and many cousins.

Joseph attended Central Hower High School and graduated from University of Akron with a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Engineering. He was a long time employee of Summit County Engineering Department as a Construction Inspector and a former employee of Cook Paving & Construction Co. Joseph has been a lifetime member of the Order of AHEPA (American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association) Akron Chapter #63 and served as Past District Governor for Buckeye #11 District Lodge (2006-2007) as well as other various positions including AHEPA Buckeye Scholarship Foundation. Joseph was an avid gardener, enjoyed cooking, and loved his John Deere tractors. He was a lifelong member of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Akron.

Family will receive friends on Thursday March 24, 2022 from 6-8 pm at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd, Akron, OH. Trisagion will take place at 6pm. Funeral Service will take place on Friday March 25, 2022 at noon, Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 129 S. Union St, Akron OH 44304. Private family interment will take place Saturday at Crown Hill Cemetery.
