Joyce Raynes, 88

Went to dwell in the house of the Lord on January 5, 2022.

Survived by nieces Anne Harnish and Lynn Raynes, nephew-in-law, Wesley Harnish, and great-nephews Matthew and Paul Harnish.

Preceded in death by mother and father, Iva Opal Raynes and Jesse F. Raynes, for whom she lovingly cared in their later years. Also preceded in death by her brothers, Howard Raynes and Jesse Raynes Jr.. Graduate of Buchtel High School. As a small child she was quarantined due to Scarlet Fever, but emerged from illness to launch a successful career with Conoco-Philips, where she made many life-long friendships. She retired to Yukon, Oklahoma, where she maintained a lovely home and garden. She traveled throughout the United States and to more than 26 other countries. She especially treasured her travels and friends with Sweet Adelaides.

The family will hold a graveside burial service kindly conducted by Rev. Deborah Nees on Monday, January 10, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Hillside Memorial Park. Donations may be made to Christ Woodland United Methodist Church or Prevent Blindness Ohio.
