Judy Wolfe (Grove)

Judy Wolfe (Grove) , age 82, passed away peacefully with family by her side on May 7, 2024 in Akron, Ohio.

Preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, John “Jack” Wolfe, parents Kenneth and Helen Grove, brother-in-law Keith Noel, and sister-in-law Eunice Barnhart. Judy is survived by sister Peg Noel, children Terri Ruf and Linda Fite (Mike), and grandchild Kaylynn Ruf; and cousins, nieces, nephews, and their families.

Judy was born on June 10, 1941, in Canton, Ohio. She grew up in Uniontown, Ohio where she attended Uniontown High School. This is where she met and later wed her husband Jack, in 1958.

For over 33 years, Judy worked at Jeter Systems in Firestone Park, where she was the Production Manager of the Label Department. Judy formed many life-long friendships at Jeter and remembers her time there fondly.

She was active throughout her life in the community, supporting the sports and other activities of her children, organizing and attending countless events with Girl Scouts and Shirley-etts. In 2020, Judy moved from her home in Canal Fulton and took up new residence at Vitalia Active Adult Community in Copley, where she instantly established even more wonderful friendships, including her best friend Arlene Scott. She most recently was a resident of St. Edwards in Fairlawn, Ohio. Her reputation among family and friends was that of a remarkably kind and caring lady.

Judy enjoyed gardening, caring for her many dachshunds, and spending time with her family and friends. She was a life-long Cleveland sports fan who did not miss a Browns, Cavs, or Indian’s game (that she listened to on her favorite radio!).

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on MONDAY, May 13, 2024 at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., with Pastor Jim Gindlesberger officiating. Burial will follow at St. Jacob’s Cemetery in N. Canton. Friends may call from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
