Justin Bruce Kriska, 77, of Akron, Ohio, died May 25, 2014.
Born October 14, 1936 to Lydia (Arbus) and George Bruce Kriska, Justin was reared in McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania. He was a graduate of McKees Rocks High School, Class of 1954; earned his Bachelor's and Master's in Business at The University of Pittsburgh. His career in marketing and business research was with Fisher Scientific, Firestone, Mead Corp., the National Fluid Power Association, and EPIC, the Edison Polymer Innovation Corporation.
Justin embraced lifelong learning and was an idea man. Creative thought was exciting and he
was fascinated by concepts from think tanks, the World Future Society, the Chautauqua Institution,
and was a prolific reader of books on business and the business of life. He enjoyed sharing
information and encouraged reflection and discussion, especially with his family.
Justin continually developed his faith through daily meditation and prayer. He had concern for the
human condition, and trusted God to build endurance.
Justin liked sports, particularly football. He always said, "You can take the boy out of Pittsburgh,
but you can't take Pittsburgh out of the boy." He was an ardent and loyal Steelers fan.
Justin reveled in spending time with his family and loved them all. He was preceded in death
by his father in 1996. Justin is survived by his mother (age 100), now of Columbus, Ohio; wife of
49 years, Chloe Ann (McKay); daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer (Kriska) and Matthew Buehrer,
Tipp City, Ohio; son and daughter-in-law, Aaron and Jennifer (Korkow) Kriska, Fredericksburg,
Virginia; grandchildren, Jessica Buehrer, Columbus; Kyle Buehrer, Tipp City; Oliver and Victor
Kriska, Fredericksburg, Virginia; brother, Brian (Sally) Kriska, Columbus; sister, Vivian (Christopher) Hartenau, Chevy Chase, Maryland; niece and nephews, Laura Kriska Gunn, David Kriska, Nicholas and Matthew Hartenau; many cousins and other extended family.
Cremation has taken place. On Saturday, May 31, 2014, the family will receive friends from
1:00 to 2:30 p.m., followed by a Celebration of Life at 2:30, at Fairlawn-West United Church of
Christ, 2095 W. Market St., Akron, OH 44313.
