Karen E. Stephens, 54, passed away on Monday, October 26th after a brief battle with glioblastoma.
Karen grew up in Northampton Township, graduated from Woodridge High School and the University of Akron. An avid gardener, she was active in the Cuyahoga Falls Community Garden, the Leaf and Blossom Garden Club and Let's Grow Akron. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.
In this life, we sometimes cross paths with individuals that have a positive impact on our lives. Karen was blessed with several such people. A special thanks and heartfelt gratitude to her brother-in-law, Peter Frost, Kenny and Stephanie Filing, Ruby Frost, Amsale Tarekegne, Dr. Hiremath, Dr. Dennis, Mary Murphy, Jerry, the staff of Altercare of Cuyahoga Falls, her hospice nurse, Kris and the rest of the staff at Summa Hospice for the love, care and friendship extended to her.
Preceded in death by her parents, Anna Marie (nee Moats) and Paul L. Stephens, Jr; Karen is survived by her sister, Diane (Peter) Frost of Douglasville, GA; niece, Sarah (Zack) Gruwell of Oak Harbor, WA; aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family will receive friends at the Billow FALLS Chapel, 1907 23rd St., SUNDAY from 2 to 4 p.m. Graveside service 11 a.m. MONDAY at Northampton Cemetery, 1014 West Bath Road, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio 44223.
