Bath

Kathleen Wallace Siddall , 75, of Bath Township, Ohio, passed away on December 17, 2023 from complications of a twenty-year battle with Parkinson’s Disease.  Her absence leaves an enormous hole in the hearts and minds of her family and friends.  She will be forever remembered for her love, patience, quiet strength, and devotion to family.

Kathy was born in Cleveland on October 23, 1948.  Her father Kay Wallace passed away when Kathy was only seven from illnesses contracted during his service in the Pacific during World War II.   Kathy’s mother, Victoria, was a strong and determined mother who provided well for her daughter.  Kathy graduated from St. Augustine Academy in 1967 then attended Case Western Reserve University where she graduated with a baccalaureate degree in history in 1971.

Kathy met her future husband, Scott Siddall, while at CWRU in a geology class in 1970.  They were married on July 13, 1974, at St. Vitus Catholic Church in Cleveland, then relocated immediately to Miami where Scott was a graduate student in oceanography.   During their time in Miami, Kathy was the manager of the marine lab’s graduate studies office at the University of Miami.

Kathy and Scott welcomed their first child, Meghan, in 1981 prior to moving to Long Island, New York where their second child, Sean, was born in 1986.  The family moved back to Ohio in 1989 to be closer to the grandmothers. During these years Kathy cultivated a home environment for her family that was full of support, festive decorations, and love. Over the years her creativity produced more than sixty intricate scrapbooks of photos and stories about her life and family, books that are today a wonderful source of joy for those who miss her dearly.

Kathy and Scott moved to Bath, Ohio, in 2016 after inheriting Scott’s family home for which daughter Meghan, now an architect, designed the renovation, including many features that accommodated Kathy’s struggle with mobility issues.  Kathy was very proud of her home and enjoyed every opportunity to share it with others.

Kathy fought so courageously against Parkinson’s, and never complained about the limitations this disease put on her.  Motherhood was her greatest role; family was her greatest joy.  She loved Walt Disney World, Eeyore, the Cleveland Indians, crafting, traveling, shoes, and listening to Neil Diamond and the Brothers Four.

Kathy is survived by her husband of 49 years, Scott; her daughter Meghan and son-in-law, Matt, son Sean and grandson, Arlo.  Her family is planning a celebration of life gathering in the Spring for this beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
