KATHRYN J. RUPP

 Kathryn Jean (Austin) Rupp peacefully went on her Heavenly journey surrounded by the love of her family on Wednesday, December 12th, 2024.

Born on July 19th, 1939 in Akron, Ohio, she brought joy to all who knew her for 85 years. 

She was valedictorian of her Cuyahoga Falls High School class where she also accompanied the choirs on the piano.

Kathryn was an English teacher in Akron Public Schools for 28 years where she encouraged her students to enjoy all kinds of writing and stories. 

She was a very gifted organist who inspired people with her ability to praise God with beautiful music at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Cuyahoga Falls, where she served as organist for 58 years. She also had many piano students who she taught over the years. 

Kathryn's most amazing accomplishment was the love and joy she shared with her family, friends, and all those she met. Everyone commented about the joy and kindness she shared with them. 

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 40 years, Robert; parents, William and Marjorie Austin; and brother, Michael Austin. 

She is survived by son Paul, of Naples, Florida; daughter and son-in-law, Diana and Michael Grissom of Green; grandchildren Hannah and Noah Grissom; sister-in- law, Sally Austin of North Granby, Connecticut; and many other family members and friends.

Family and friends may visit from 10:00-11:00 am on Monday December 16, 2024 at St. Luke's Lutheran Church 2121 Sixth Street, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio 44221, with a funeral service at the church at 11:00 am. A lunch will be served following the burial at Crown Hill Cemetery in Twinsburg, Ohio.
