Kay Frances Price , age 81, of Richfield, OH, unexpectedly passed away in her sleep on April 24, 2024, to be with her Lord and Savior. Born in New Martinsville, WV, on September 17, 1942, she was the cherished daughter of the late Glenn and Beatrice (LeMasters) Winland.
Kay grew up in Toronto, OH, where she attended the Toronto First Church of the Nazarene and graduated from Jefferson Union High School. After graduating from business college, she began working in an Ohio Edison power plant. There she met her husband David Price. She married and moved to Akron and became a member of Fairlawn Lutheran Church.
She celebrated 56 wonderful years of marriage with her loving husband, David, who survives her. She leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion as the proud mother of Cindy (Price) Gilreath, mother-in-law to Phil Gilreath, and cherished grandmother to Molly Gilreath of Richfield. She also leaves behind her brother, Lyle Winland (Jean), of Colorado Springs, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. whose memories with Kay will be treasured forever.
Kay's life was marked by her steadfast faith, kindness, helpfulness and always being eager to show hospitality to others. Kay found particular joy in her adventures with friends to Holmes County, creating many lasting cherished memories. Kay also found pleasure in listening to Cleveland baseball games and the podcast "Unashamed", which brought her both comfort and inspiration.
May she rest in peace in the Lord, her influence enduring through the lives of those she touched.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 29, from 10:00 to 10:30 AM, followed by a memorial service at 10:30 AM at Fairlawn Lutheran Church, 3415 West Market Street, Fairlawn, OH. Interment will follow at West Richfield Cemetery, 4219 Broadview Rd, Richfield, OH, with lunch to follow immediately back at Fairlawn Lutheran Church.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to Fairlawn Lutheran Church Memorial.
Kay's family would like to extend their gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this time. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered as a guiding force of unconditional love and faith.
