Kenneth E. Sauter, 102, of Lake Suzy, Florida passed away August 16, 2012.
He was born May 3, 1910 in Johnstown, Pa. to Christian and Mary Sauter. Ken was a Builder and Developer in Akron, Ohio for 60 years. A member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Akron since the age of two, he was a 33rd. degree Mason, member of the Trinity Lodge #0710 in Canton, Ohio; a member of the Grand Council Royal & Select Masons of Ohio, Canton Council #35; Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons of Ohio Chapter 84 and the Scottish Rite, Valley of Akron. He moved to Florida in 1996 to be closer to his daughter. In Florida, Ken was the builder/developer for the Charlotte County Self Storage. He was 88 years old at the time and this was his last large building project, but he never really retired. He loved to play tennis, travel and enjoyed playing bridge seven days a week.
He is survived by his daughter, Kay Mohler of Lake Suzy, Fla.; grandchildren, Carrie (Michael) Pierce of Pensacola, Fla. and Christopher Checke of Ft Lauderdale, Fla.; great granddaughter, Merina Ann Pierce of Pensacola, Fla.. He was predeceased by his wife, Alice in 1998 and by his sister, Irma Hetherington.
A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. FRIDAY at Chestnut Hill Memorial Park in Cuyahoga Falls with Rev. David Klein officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society at cancer.org.
