Dr. Krishna Baranwal, age 82, passed away on November 12, 2018.
He was born on January 1, 1936 in Bahadurpur, India. He obtained a Masters of Science in Physical Chemistry and a Masters of Technology in Rubber Science in India, and emigrated to the United States in 1962 to obtain a PhD in Polymer Science from The University of Akron. Krishna spent the majority of his career as the Director of Tire Research & Testing at BF Goodrich. He then served as the Executive Vice President of the Akron Rubber Development Lab until retiring in 2006. Krishna was very active in the community and served on the boards of the Akron Jaycees, the Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library, and the Inventor's Hall of Fame.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Arti Baranwal; daughters, Dr. Rita (Peter Johnson) Baranwal, Dr. Seema (Ashish Chawla) Baranwal; grandchildren Sanjay and Amiya Johnson, Sachin, Dilan, and Lily Chawla; and brothers, Subhash (Manju) and Uma (Maya) Baranwal.
Funeral services will be held 4 P.M. on FRIDAY, November 16 at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N Miller Road, with Ashok Bhargava officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Cremation services will occur immediately following the service. (Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel)
