Laurie S. Horner, 84, died Dec. 29, 2008.

Born in Deemston, Pa., he was a member and trustee of Christ United Methodist Church, Air Force Escape and Evasion Society, V.F.W., 487th B.G. 8th Air Force Historical Society and also the Ohio Chapter. He was an active member of the Soap Box Derby organization and retired from B.F. Goodrich where he was a construction manager of retail tire centers.

Preceded in death by wife, Grace, he is survived by daughter, Patricia Delagrange; son, John Horner; grandchildren, Laurie Collins, Amy Fulton, Stacie Horner and Elizabeth Scott; great-grandchildren, William, Sara and Claire Collins, Thomas and Joseph Mautz, Maggie Fulton; and special friend, Pat Neely.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., with Rev. Benjamin J. Black, III officiating. Entombment at Rose Hill Burial Park with military honors by American Legion Post #449. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour before services. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to Christ United Methodist Church, 380 Mineola Ave., Akron 44320.
