LaVern E. Huber, 90, passed away December 17, 2012.
Born in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, she was a homemaker having volunteered for many years at the American Red Cross. A cat lover, LaVern enjoyed embroidering, cross stitching and had participated in Warm Up Akron and Project Linus.
Preceded in death by her husband, Richard Huber, she is survived by her children, Ginny (Howard) Essner, Dick (Pat) Huber, Paul (Mary Ellen) Huber and Pete (Theresa) Huber; grandchildren, Adam (Kari), Erik (Angie), Aaron, Katie (Nick), Ellie, Veronica and Jason; five great-grand-children; and brother, Jerry Christenson.
LaVern's family will receive friends from 1 to 4 p.m. SATURDAY at the home of Ginny and Howard Essner. Her urn will be buried next to her husband in Wisconsin. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Greater Akron, 7996 Darrow Rd., Twinsburg, OH 44087 or the charity of one's choice.
