Born in Akron to Fred and Marion Schumacher, he graduated John Carroll University and Case Western Reserve University Dental School. He was a lifelong resident of Akron where he was a practicing dentist for more than 40 years, a member of Portage Country Club, and was honorably discharged from the United States Navy in 1953.
Dr. Schumacher is survived by son, Barry Lee; grandchildren, John, Jennifer, Christopher, Megan, Molly and Michael; great-grandchildren, Grace, Norah and Jack; his long term devoted friend, Judy Fisher; brothers, John and George; sister, Irene; nieces and nephews.
