Leo Jacob, affectionately known as Big Leo by his family, passed away on December 30, 2012 at the age of 90.
Leo traveled a lot and saw many wonderful places. His passion was his yard and his garden. His yard was always the most beautiful in the neighborhood and his garden produced plentifully.
Leo was a World War II veteran, was awarded two purple hearts, and most recently participated in the Akron area's final Honor Flight that honored World War II vets. He retired from Firestone Tire & Rubber Co. as a foreman and then from the State of Ohio.
He is a member of St. George Antiocian Orthodox Church and was very active in the church. Leo's faith was strong and a very important part of his life. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Services will be held 10:30 a.m. FRIDAY at St. George Antiocian Orthodox Church, 3204 Ridgewood Rd., with Rev. Fr, Louis Mahshie officiating. Interment at Mt. Peace Cemetery. Friends may call at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., TONIGHT from 4-8 P.M.
