Leslie D."Mac" McDougal, age 91, of Copley passed away Monday, December 9, 2013.
Born October 30, 1922 in Clarington, Ohio, he was the son of Albert and Drucy (Miller) Mc Dougal.
Mac was a Copley resident for 62 years. He was a WWII Army Veteran who fought in the Battle of the Bulge and was part of the European Theatre. He was awarded the Purple Heart, three Battle Stars, and the French Legion of Honor medal; he had been a part of the 324th Infantry Group.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Marie (Kanzigg); daughter Sherry (Richard) Bear and son Sheldon (Margie) McDougal; grandchildren: Michelle (Brian) Borla, Suzi (Walter) Kusper, Melissa (Don) Tomasik, Ryan (Amy) McDougal, Jeff (Fiancee Kate) McDougal, and Doug McDougal; 11 great grandchildren and his special companion, Lexie, his dog.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Carl and Theodore, and sisters Evelyn and Martha.
Friends will be received at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd. on Thursday from 5-8PM where services will be held on Friday, December 13, 2013 at 11:00am with Reverend Diane Shirey officiating. Entombment will take place at Rose Hill Burial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in care of the family to the Pallative Care Unit of Akron City Hospital.
