Linda E. Gannon, 82, passed away peacefully on January 4th, 2021 after a courageous battle with Lewy Body Dementia. Born in Canton, Ohio, she graduated from Milligan College in 1960 and received her M.S.S.A. from Case Western Reserve in 1962. As a social worker in private practice she helped to heal and comfort many through the years.
Linda was passionate about social justice and supported many causes including the fight to end poverty and human trafficking. She volunteered often and in her later years particularly enjoyed reading weekly to young school children.
Linda enjoyed nature, meditation, the symphony, travel, cooking, and above all, Linda cherished time with her family and many groups of friends such as WWA. Linda traveled frequently with daughter Kim and kids, spent countless Fridays with her Ohio grandchildren, made several trips south to see Ted and north to see sister Joan and family.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents Vera and Pete Elliott. She leaves behind daughters Michelle Scullin of Lyndhurst, Ohio (Partner Mark Sweeney), Kimberly Gannon of St. Louis, MO, son Ted Gannon of Lyndhurst, Ohio, sister Joan Gray (Donald) of Madison, WI, grandchildren Marisa Scullin, Colleen Scullin, Caroline Anderson, Jack Anderson, and niece Cindy Cook, nephew Rich Gray and their families.
Linda was an active member of St. Hilary Parish. Due to Covid-19 a service for immediate family only is being held. At her request, Linda will be laid to rest in Glendale Cemetery where she can view the annual ballet in the meadow.
