Linda K Hawkins

Linda Kay Hawkins, 60, of Fairlawn, Ohio, passed away on August 30, 2013 surrounded in love by her family.
Visitation will be held at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1250 W Exchange St, Akron, Ohio, on September 2, 2013 from 10:00 - 12:00pm. A Memorial Service will be held at noon, followed by a luncheon.
Linda was born in Wheeling, West Virginia to Carl and Lucille Lynch on February 24, 1953. She graduated from Warwood High School. While studying at West Virginia University, Linda met and fell in love with Larry. They married on December 21, 1974. She went on to earn a degree in Nursing from Ohio Valley School of Nursing. She worked as a Registered Nurse for over 25 years. A cradle Presbyterian, Linda was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed knitting, cross-stitching, gardening, and volunteering, but most of all she loved to spend time with her family. Being a mother was central to Linda's life. She was a constant example of Christ, especially evident in the nurturing of her family.
When she was diagnosed with cancer, Linda chose optimism and faith. She led her family with her example of turning to Christ and finding strength in Him.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Lucille (Hagerman) Lynch.
Linda is survived by her loving husband Larry; her children Kelly, Michael and Bethany; her brother Carl (Gary) Lynch and many nieces and nephews and cousins.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Cleveland Clinic for their compassionate care and support of Linda's fiercely fought battle with cancer, and to the Akron General Intensive Care Unit for their support and care in her final hours.
