In Loving Memory of Linda Lee Stotzer January 28, 1962 – January 17, 2025

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Linda Lee Stotzer on Friday, January 17, 2025, at Medina General Hospital in Medina, Ohio. At the age of 62, Linda’s life was marked by her unwavering kindness, tireless advocacy, and boundless love for her family, friends, and community.

Born at St. Thomas Hospital in Akron, Linda grew up in Munroe Falls, Ohio, and graduated from Stow High School in 1980. She made her home in Granger Township starting in 2000, creating a warm and loving environment for her family and friends.

Linda’s dedication to supporting the developmentally disabled was inspired by her mother, Ruth, and embodied through her 16 years of service with the Summit County Board of Developmental Disabilities. Beginning her career as a bus aide and later becoming a production specialist at the adult workshop, Linda’s commitment to improving the lives of others was a defining part of her life. She also found joy and purpose as a coach for volleyball and cross-country skiing with the Summit County Special Olympics team. Her leadership extended to running the volleyball venue at the Area 10 Ohio Special Olympics Spring Games and coordinating the annual Summit County Special Olympics Sports Banquet with her husband from 1994 through 2004.

Linda’s fierce devotion to her family and friends was matched only by her love of animals. She rescued and lovingly cared for many dogs over the years. Her storytelling, affectionately referred to as “Linda stories,” brought warmth and laughter to those around her.

Beyond her professional life, Linda’s commitment to others extended to her volunteer work. She actively supported Camp Y-Noah in Green, Ohio. She personally hosted the camp counselors in her home creating cherished memories. Her passion for the arts was evident in her support of the Akron Civic Theatre, Porthouse Theatre, and Cleveland Playhouse Square.

She retired to raise her daughters, Laura and Lydia, and actively volunteered at the Spring Garden Waldorf School in Copley. Linda is remembered for her immeasurable love, her ability to connect deeply with others, and her selfless nature.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Ruth Soucie; and her sister, Christine. She is survived by her devoted husband of 31 years, Dane; her beloved daughters, Laura and Lydia; her brother, Don Soucie; and her brother-in-law, Kent Bulgrin, and his wife, Becky.

A memorial service and visitation will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Linda’s memory may be made to Operation Orphan Wildlife Rehabilitation, the Humane Society, or a charity of your choice.

Linda’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her, as her legacy of compassion, strength, and love continues to inspire.
