Lisa Ann Owen, 63, passed away at home in Akron, Ohio, on Tuesday, April 8, 2025. She was born in Akron on April 18, 1961 to parents, George and Mona Owen.
Lisa is survived by her sisters, Patty (Mike) Bolton, Gloria Owen, and Joanie (Damian) Ludwiczak. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews: Jason (Melissa) Bolton, David (Jorrie) Bolton, Janine (Tommy) Nolan, Joey (Dallas) Abu-Jaoude, Phillip (Jon) Salem, Wayra Salem, and Tabitha and George Ludwiczak. She is also survived by brother-in-law, Dr. Tony Salem; Daniela Salem, the wife of her late nephew Anthony, and their children, Mia, Tori, and Bella. Lisa had 5 great nephews, Anthony Marble-Salem, Kaden Bryson and Maddox Nolan, and Zeke Salem. Lisa would call her nieces and nephews her “15 smoochie kids”. Her nieces and nephews meant everything to her, and she was very proud of each and every one of them.
Lisa was preceded in death by her parents, George (2001) and Mona (2001); sister, Eva Salem (2008); nephew, Anthony Salem (2023); and niece, Jennifer Salem (2023). She missed her departed family, and we all know she is happy to be united with them eternally.
Lisa graduated from Firestone High School in 1980 and graduated from The University of Akron. She then worked in the banking industry for many years. Lisa most enjoyed spending time with her family. Her hobbies included cross stitching, scrapbooking and framing the many family pictures she would take. She also enjoyed puzzles, and of course, watching her “soaps on t.v.”.
Visitation will be from 5-8 P.M. FRIDAY April 25 at the Billow Fairlawn Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 A.M. SATURDAY April 26 at Our Lady of the Cedars Maronite Catholic Church, 507 S. Cleveland Massillon Rd, Fairlawn, OH 44333. Lisa will be laid to rest next to her parents at Holy Cross Cemetery at 2 P.M. on SATURDAY May 3. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Kidney Fund (give.kidneyfund.org). The family thanks all of Lisa’s many doctors and caregivers who helped her for many years of her life.
