L. Jean Lamont , 92, passed away March 11, 2024. She was born in Lorain, Ohio to the late David and Margaret Manwell. Jean was married to her husband of 41 years, Chester Lamont, “the Love of my Life”, until his death in 2014.
Jean left a legacy of love to those around her and was a faithful member of First Christian Church in Stow. Among her many friends are those from CWF, Bath Delta Garden Club, Bath/ Richfield/ Fairlawn Senior Groups, the Good Times Club and Revere School Retirees. Her Family, neighbors and friends were a constant source of joy in her life. Jean retired in 1995 from the Revere Schools where she worked as mail courier, study hall monitor, and cashier for lunch and sporting events.
Jean is survived by her children Robert Marlowe (Sue), Elizabeth Smith (Paul) and Phillip Marlowe (Heather), step-daughters Cynthia Busch, Pam Zollinger (Jeff) and Amy Siegfried (Richard), grandchildren Jessica Biddle (Randy), Jonathan Marlowe (Shauna), Erin Minnick (Jesse), Andy Smith (Katie), Garrett Marlowe (Elise), Lauren Marlowe, Becky Ward, Brian Busch (Karen), Holly Herron, Glennis Ward (Kerry), and Caitlyn Siegfried, 16 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her grandson, Matthew Smith, twin daughters at their birth and her brother David Manwell.
Calling hours will be at First Christian Church of Stow, Ohio, Monday, May 6, 9:30-11AM, with a memorial service and a luncheon immediately following. Interment will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio promptly at 2:15 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Akron Children’s Hospital Oncology Department or First Christian Church, Stow, Ohio.
Our family wishes to thank her neighbors, especially Krissi and James, Tony and Jenn, Millie and Paul who kindly looked in on mom.
