Louis Danesis

Louis Danesis, 74, died December 9, 2009.

Known as 'Big Lou, the Golden Greek,' he was born in Akron and was a life resident. He attended the Ohio Military Institute in Cincinnati and had served in the Army Reserve. An avid fisherman, he was a member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church and the Albanian Men's Club. He retired from the City of Akron as an Industrial Meter Reader.

Preceded in death by his parents, George and Irene and son, George, he is survived by his wife, Helen; son, Perry Zita; sister, Becky Danesis; brothers, Michael Pamela and Dr. Greg Katie Danesis; sister-in-law, Loretta Watson; nieces and nephews, Renee, Gina, Jeff, Alex, Samantha, Stephanie, Carmen, George and David.

The family wishes to thank Lou's caregiver and dear friend, Ed Hovatter.

Services will be held Noon MONDAY at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 129 S. Union St., with Rev. Fr. Jerry F. Hall officiating. Entombment at Rose Hill Burial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home SUNDAY, 4 to 7 p.m., where Trisagios Service will take place at 6 p.m. Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel
