Louise Anna Purcell nee Wahl, 79, passed away June 19, 2011.
She was born January 31, 1932 in Norwalk, Ohio, to Erich and Margaret Wahl. Louise grew up in Detroit, Michigan, and attended Bowling Green State University where she met her loving husband and soul mate Robert C. Purcell ``Bob.' They were married in 1953.
Moving to Akron, Bob and Lou became members of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, where Louise has been an active member for over 55 years. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and she was involved with the Memorial Garden, Altar Guild, youth leaders, and many other church activities. She was a member of P.E.O., enjoyed playing golf and bridge, and retired from Society Bank.
Louise was preceded in death by husband of 48 years, Bob. She is survived by her brother, The Rev. J. Philip Wahl Janice; daughter, Susan Campbell Keith; son, Rob Karen; she also leaves four grandchildren, Christopher Jen, Stephanie, Jessica Brent and John Mandy; two great-grandchildren, Brandon and Cameron and one on the way; sister-in-law, Janet Rees; and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff at Greenview Inn for their compassion and care of Louise over the past two years, and would also like to thank Ascera Hospice Care for their comfort and kindness to our mom and her family in her final days.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. WEDNESDAY, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, with Pastor Eileen Woyen officiating. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Memorial Garden Fund, 50 N. Prospect St., Akron 44304.
