Lydia K Wenhardt

August 2, 1916 — June 14, 2009

Safe in the arms of Jesus, Lydia K. Wenhardt, 92, went home to be with her Savior on June 14, 2009.

Born in Akron, Ohio to Wendel and Helen Kalman, she lived in this area all her life. After a brief time at Hammel Actual College, she was employed by the trust department of First National Bank in downtown Akron for eleven years. At age 33 she fell in love with Edward W. Wenhardt and spent the next 56 years enjoying a blessed life, leaving behind the world of banking. Instead she raised her daughter Cheryl and son Eric and enjoyed every aspect of homemaking. Lydia was baptized on June 18, 1939 and was a member of Vesper Lake Bible Fellowship Church in Bath Township.

Preceded in death by husband, Edward; one sister; and four brothers; she is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Jeremiah Dillon; son, Eric Pam; sister, Lillian Kalman; brother, Louis Kalman special friend Janie; brother, Richard Branka Kalman; granddaughter, Megan Darren Ressler; grandsons, Jeremiah Jr. and Sean; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral services to be held 11:30 a.m., Thursday at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd. with Minister Fred Hildenbrand officiating. Private burial at Crown Hill Cemetery. Friends may call 10 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. If desired, memorials may be made to the Arthritis Foundation, 2542 S. Arlington Rd., #100, Akron, OH 44319.
