Lyle L. "Skip" Frederick, Sr., 93, passed away December 21, 2012.
Born in Copley, he was a life time resident. After World War II when he returned from service in the U.S. Navy, Skip joined his father in the family business, Frederick Dairy, in Copley. He was an insurance agent for over 30 years and had served as a Copley Township Trustee. A member of the Akron Baptist Temple, Edwin Palmer Lodge F&AM and the Grotto, he was past commander and lifetime member of American Legion Post #473. His hobbies consisted of hunting, snowmobiling and motorcycle riding.
Preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; daughter, Wanda Cannon and wife, Betty; he is survived by his son, Lyle, Jr. (Anna Marie); step-sons, James and Barry Moore; seven grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; and dear friend, Jean.
Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. THURSDAY at Copley Cemetery with Rev. Mike Prebynski officiating and military honors by Copley Veterans Post and the U.S. Navy. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Copley Veterans Post, 1278 Sunset Dr., Copley, OH 44321.
