Joanne Davis, 76, died August 11, 2008.
A life resident of Akron, Joanne was a graduate of Buchtel High School and attended the University of Akron where she was a member of Delta Gamma Sorority. She was a life member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church where she was a longtime member of the Altar Guild; and an active member of the Women's Board of Summa Health System for more than 50 years where she was a past treasurer and worked weekly in the Gift Shop with the "Tuesday Girls" of whom she was very fond. Joanne knitted countless booties for the preemies at Children's Hospital Medical Center of Akron and was a member of Fairlawn Country Club.
She is survived by her adoring husband of 54 years who she met at Rankin Elementary School, Gerald; loving children, Thomas Jacquelyn of Akron, James Donna of Orlando, Florida, and Susan Robert Massengill of Morristown, New Jersey; granddaughters, Lindsay, Jenna, Sarah, Lynn and Amy; brother, Dr. Richard F. Martha Everhard of Wadsworth; brother-in-law, Tom E. Patty Davis of Ithaca, New York; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services will be held 10 a.m. Friday at St. Paul's Episcopal Church with Dr. George L. Murphy and Rev. Martha J. Everhard officiating. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park. Friends may call at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., Thursday 4 to 7 p.m.
