Madeline A. Armstrong

February 16, 1927 — January 20, 2021

Madeline (Mooradian) A. Armstrong, 93, left her earthly home, known for its hospitality and love, for her eternal home with the Lord on January 20, 2021.  She began her beautiful life on February 16, 1927, in Akron, OH, attending elementary school only able to speak her parents native language Armenian. But she assimilated into schooling, graduating from Buchtel High School and then working at Ohio Bell Telephone for ten years during which time she met the love of her life, Paul.  They were married in 1955 and had three children, building a life of love and service in their home, neighborhood, Armenian community, and church, High Street Christian. Deep and abiding friendships were forged through the years because of their hospitality and warmth, and willingness to share whatever they had with those in need.  Paul preceded her in death in 2013.  But Madeline kept that light of love burning bright welcoming many guests into her home for short or long stays, it didn’t matter.  You never knew who’d pop in her home for a hug, snack, or a chat with smiling, spunky Madeline. You didn’t need to call ahead, everyone was always welcome, even with their pets, whenever they felt like stopping by. Because of that the circle of those endeared to her was ever widening.  Up until her final breath, she was surrounded by the love of family and friends, even finding strength the day before she died, to let her great granddaughter play with stuffed animals on her bed.  She is survived by her daughters Debbie, Diane (Bart), son Mark (Renae), and Ako (Ted); grandchildren Lilly (Lucas), Kara, Krista, Joseph (Molly), Kelsey (Taylor), Jared (Taylor), Brandon (Emily), Celeste (Scott), Hannah (Christian), and four great grandchildren, Isaac, Joseph, Abby, and Madeline.
